My 48th Birthday
To many, a birthday can be a reminder of the shortening of days until they reached the grave. To others, it can be a reminder of just how far they've come. For me, it is the latter coupled with an overwhelming joy of how great God is.
On November 25th of this year, I turned 40 years old. The doctors did not expect me to live into my teenage years. Not to mention, I weigh around 45 pounds and do not use my full lung capacity. In short, the odds (according to man) were stacked against me. But, God was for me. He had a plan, and no weapon formed against it could prosper. By His grace I'm still here to celebrate with people who love me.
I want to encourage all to begin to look at their life as an opportunity to reflect on the goodness of God. One of my favorite lines in elevation worship song is, "if I'm not good, He is not done". As you can see in the photo, I am not good. So, God is not done.
I was blessed by so many on my birthday, but this particular birthday, I was blessed to be with friends of 30+ years. Let's be honest, their family. These people have been with me through thick and thin. I don't know if words can describe how blessed I felt to be with them. More importantly, how blessed I am to realize everyday is a miracle.
Remember to always celebrate life. Live every day as though it was your last. Savor every moment as if though it is the only moment left.
